Dose mapping and instructions for routine processing of a device are based on the configuration that is tested. If a change is made to a product, the change must be evaluated to determine if any testing is required before the new configuration can be processed. This includes any changes to the configuration used for routine processing, even outside of the sterile barrier, such as changes to IFU size and shipper box construction.
Contact lab@nextbeam.com with any questions or information about changes to device configuration. Timeline and costs will depend on the nature of the change and your specific request, ranging between updating documentation without testing up to performing a new dose map.
Contact lab@nextbeam.com with any questions about product adoption. Depending on the similarity of the candidate product to a previously dose mapped product, adoption could be performed as a documentation exercise or require dose mapping.
Quality & Validation
Please email the document to lab@nextbeam.com.
Yes, we can provide a list of trusted labs known for fast turnaround and excellent work. Please email sales@nextbeam.com for a list of the labs we currently recommend working with. Please note, the microbiology component of a sterilization validation is a separate process from NextBeam’s services. You’ll need to coordinate directly with the lab, but we’re happy to point you in the right direction / assist with lab recommendations as needed. We can also provide advice on min and max dose specifications depending on the product configuration, dose mapping, and bioburden information.

Disclaimer: NextBeam is not intending to provide legal advice. Please consult your own tax advisors and/or team for questions on sales tax in South Dakota.
At NextBeam we are periodically asked about sales tax exemptions in South Dakota for qualification and/or R&D work. While work done on products that are resold qualifies as tax-exempt, we must charge sales tax on qualification work on products/samples that will not be resold (e.g. dose maps, specific dosing, etc.) South Dakota is one of the few states (~10) states that do not offer exemptions for R&D or testing purchases.
The simplest resource we are aware of explaining this is SD DOR’s Tax Fact: Exemption Certificates, located here: https://dor.sd.gov/media/q0xpvden/exemption-certificate.pdf. Specifically, commentary on the exemptions, or lack thereof, for R&D work is addressed in the “Resale” section on pages 5-6 of the document.
